NEW LIFE in CHRIST - ISRAEL IZADOR 1950-2005

Rev. Israel Izidor, president of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haiti, died of meningitis March 20, 2005 in Les Cayes, Haiti.

Israel Izidor studied theology at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, from 1985-1987 and He was ordained in 1992. Izidor also served as the founding president of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haiti. President Rev. Israel Izidor addressed the Lutheran Church Missouri Synods' national convention in 2001 resulting in the delegates voting unanimously to formalize alter and pulpit fellowship with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haiti.


Israel was great leader and guiding light to all who knew him. He was known for his enthusiasm and dedication to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His legacy has touched millions both in his native Haiti and around the world. The Holy Spirit used Israel to inspire thousands of short and long term missionaries who have since spread out around the world sharing the good news.

Izidor dream continues though his wife, Leonie; children Yelline (Genet) Gelin, Ketura, Ezechias, and Israelson.



Today let us not Morn but Celebrate the life and legacy of a true Servant Leader. Rest in the arms of our risen Savior - Israel Izidor.
