Haiti's National Palace - before and after
Pastor Marky Kessa is safe.
Pastor Marky, President of the Evangelical Lutheran Church In Haiti has been located and is safe. There has been serious damage in his District of Jacmel.
Although I still have not heard from Pastor Isaac, I did get an update this morning from The Haitian Health Foundation near Pastor Isaac's home in Jeremie.
Apparently there was more damage than first reported in Jeremie and the surrounding village communities. Mar Franc and Moron have both suffered the loss of homes and lives. Both of these villages are in Pastor Isaac's district and were visited by our teams on the last mission trip.
The Haitian Health Foundation (which is a big organization out of CT) said they had a container arrive in Port Au Prince just before the earthquake hit so their fear is that they will never get the food and medical supplies that were sent.
They are searching for ways to receive supplies into Jeremie and asked that any donations be held until they find a way to receive them safely.
Please send your donations through your local church, the Haitian Lutheran Mission Project or Lutheran Church Charities http://www.luteranchurchcharities.org/
NOT the government or unknown charities.
